I have an earlier version of this Kitchen Aid hand mixer, which was purchased in 1994 and still works but I had been thinking about replacing it with a newer one. After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little skeptical about purchasing this model. When it arrived I compared it with my older one and thought this new one seems lighter and wondered if it would be as good. On Thanksgiving Day, I gave it a good workout mixing up 5lbs of potatoes to mash -- I was very impressed with how well it did the job. For me, I think I made the right choice to purchase this hand mixer.

I purchased this product about a year ago. I was extremely excited as I do a lot a baking and other things that require a hand mixer. I was hoping this would be my last purchase. However, I have been quite disappointed. It is lightweight and does a wonderful job. The attachments without the middle bar are wonderful and it is lightweight. BUT for some reason, one of the attachments will not stay locked into the mixer. So I am constantly having to stop in the middle to push it back in. I do not know what is causing this problem but it is very frustrating. I am considering purchasing another to replace this one because it ends up taking me at least 2 times longer to mix anything. This is a problem that I have had after only a few uses of the product.
